Barbara Serry Art

Barbara Serry is a self-taught artist and mama of two based in Tacoma, WA. She reconnected with her passion for painting in 2015 during a yoga retreat in Tulum, Mexico. She had her first show at a local coffee shop soon after she came home and has loved making art ever since. When her son was born in 2016, she left her position as a City planner and began painting from home.She believes art is a foundation of our culture and personal enjoyment that could be used as a tool to move through parenthood and other major changes in life. Her current work explores identity, vulnerability, motherhood, and empowerment. Her mediums are acrylic paint, oil pastel, ink, photos, and collage. Each painting is layered with vibrant color, pattern, and texture. Barbara's work has been featured in Real NW Living magazine and has been shown at the 253 Collective and Craft 19.
