What is The Co-Lab like?

The Co-Lab, nestled in the heart of the Proctor District, is a dynamic and vibrant space perfect for children and parents alike. It features classrooms for kids' programs and an upstairs co-working space for parents. We have two fantastic outdoor areas, including a play structure, herb garden, mud kitchen, tire swing, and an outdoor classroom.

Can I get a tour of The Co-Lab?

Absolutely! We encourage families to join us for our Summer Camp Open House on Tuesday, May 28th, from 6-7 pm. Kids are welcome to come along! If you can't make it, please contact Anna at hello@ourpodfamily.com to arrange a personal tour.

How will The Co-Lab manage hosting summer camps alongside Tacoma Children’s School camps?

Both Tacoma Children’s School camps and The Co-Lab camps will run separately, utilizing our multiple spaces to rotate groups throughout the day. Our excellent 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio ensures we maintain high-quality care, excitement, and education. We are also revamping the side yard to create a fantastic outdoor classroom for crafts and activities, with no changes to our fun-packed curriculum.

How will Drop-Off & Pick-Up be handled with two camp groups?

• Tacoma Children’s School Campers: Drop-off and pick-up in the back play yard.

• The Co-Lab Campers: Drop-off inside; pick-up inside or in the side yard.

• Full Day Pick-Up: Campers from both groups may combine for pick-up at 4 pm, depending on numbers.

All campers must be signed in and out daily. Adults picking up campers must be on the approved pick-up list and carry photo ID. Campers will wear color-coded bracelets to indicate their group.

Will the student/teacher ratio change?

No, our 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio remains the same, ensuring the high-quality care and education you expect from our camps.

Is The Co-Lab peanut-free?

Yes, The Co-Lab is a peanut-free facility.

I want to disenroll. Can I get a refund?

Yes, due to the change in location, we are offering full refunds to families who withdraw by May 31, 2024. Withdrawals on or after June 1st will follow our regular refund policy: 25% of tuition is non-refundable, and 75% is refundable if withdrawn at least 14 days before camp starts. To withdraw, please email hello@ourpodfamily.com. Late notice will result in forfeiture of all tuition.

I’m going to be at TCS in the fall of 2024. What is the plan for the preschool program?

TCS Preschool will continue in the fall! We are currently securing a new, beautiful location. If you are enrolled or on the waitlist and did not receive our May 20th email, please contact natasha@tacomachildrensschool.com.
